Financial aid

Most students residing in France with a valid resident’s permit are eligible for financial aid for their rented accommodation. This is managed by the CAF (Caisses d’Allocations Familiales). If filled out correctly, the forms are usually processed quite quickly and the money will be paid directly into your French bank account every month.

n.b. Due to a very high demand for apartments in Paris many landlords tend to opt out of the CAF financial aid system in order to avoid the unnecessary paperwork and extra administration that it entails.

We can assist you in both filling out the forms and opening a French bank account.

Example based on 2 people sharing a €700 rental in Bordeaux
Rental cost €300.50 per person
Financial aid €87,12
Total rental cost per month €213,38 per person

Example based on 1 person occupying a €400 rental in Lyon
Total rental cost €400
Financial aid €165.42
Total rental cost per month €234,58

We can advise you on preparing documents likely to be requested by a landlord.

We can remain available to advise you on matters related to your accommodation for the duration of your stay in France.
